  • Will hanging my bike damage the bike frame or forks?
Hanging a bike in Steadyrack will not cause any damage to your bike. No part of the bike frame touches the rack, only the front tire, which is cradled in the steel arms.
How does the Steadyrack handle carbon wheels on road bikes?
One of the main features of our design is the fact that it is the most suitable rack for carbon wheels. There is less pressure on the bike than when you’re riding it and it is certainly better than hooks. The wheel is cradled between the two support arms and the tire cushions the wheel and bike. There should be absolutely no need to do any maintenance on your rims or wheels if you use a Steadyrack.
Can I lock my bike to a Steadyrack?
You can lock your bikes into our racks with a D Lock or Chain lock. This is sufficient to prevent opportunist theft and adequate if your bikes are stored in a private carpark. If your bikes are in a location fully accessible to the public, we recommend installing a bracket or a steel rail to the wall underneath the rack to attach a locking device to. As with everything, take caution when storing your bike in a public place, as professional thieves can generally get around any locking system.
    Do the racks swing freely?
Steadyracks are assembled using a specific tension for the nuts (torque setting = 5nm) that holds the central spine to the top and bottom mounting brackets. This setting is designed to give sufficient tension to the pivot to ensure bikes can be loaded on any angle without the rack moving around too much. When you remove the 2 plastic caps from the top and bottom, the nuts are exposed. You can loosen both nuts to free up the rack more, and equally you can tighten them to lock the rack into position. We recommend you maintain them so the racks are stiff but can still be pivoted. The rack can be quite stiff when you use it for the first few times but it does loosen over time. This is due to the type of fiber washers we use to assist with the stiffening effect.
Can I lock my Steadyrack into one position or any angle?
It is not possible to lock the rack solid in one position. However, you can tighten the nuts so the rack will become stiff and will effectively hold it in the one position. To do this, first remove the two, plastic mounting bracket covers (End Caps). Next, tighten the two nuts that attach the central pivot bar to the mounting brackets. If you follow these steps, we recommend checking your fixings carefully and making sure they are very secure as any sideways pressure on the rack could damage the mounting bracket.
    Are Steadyracks suitable for apartments?
Yes our racks are ideal for apartment buildings where the parking is in a secure environment and not exposed directly to the elements.

      Nice Rack

Relatively easy to install. To save extra space with the multiple mounts, mounted 3/4 inch plywood to the wall and then secured the racks to it. Using 3 each #12 x 1 inch screws top and bottom with 1/4 inch washers did the trick. Spacing between racks is 2 feet giving plenty of room to load and unload bikes. One more rack to go when the last bike is purchased. Directions were easy to follow. Had to convert metric to SAE for easier installation. Also I believe the recommended hole sizes to drill were for using in concrete and not appropriate for wood mounting - be careful.

2 Standard and 2 Fat Bike Steadyrack Outdoor RV Park Install

Excellent design - easy install - I opted for using 2X6 treated boards Torx bolted into studs to free up lateral location of the racks - 4 installed in total.

Suggestion - the plastic lower rear wheel holder could either be upgraded or an upgrade option added - the current design does not hold the wheel properly when the rack is rotated to the side - the wheel rim hits the claw and the tire sits out. I would like to see a type of ball swivel between the claw and the wall that would allow the entire lower tire holder to move to the left or right in unison with the upper rack when it is pushed to the right or left. Otherwise love it - huge improvement over my previous wall mounted fixed hook bike racks.

One other modification I did - one fat bike is an e -assist and has substantial weight. I was concerned about the stress on the bike over time so I mounted the rack slightly lower - I can slide a small paving stone under the rear tire to take some of the weight off the headset and forks - maybe I'm over cautious but the e assist bikes are expensive - again that might be an install option - adding a small adjustable series of interlocking plastic blocks for e bikes - just enough to take some of the weight without lifting the front wheel out of the upper rack - slide under the rear wheel one the bike is in the rack

Hi Phil, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. The rear tire rest is used as a support and is not intended to cradle the tire when pivoted. When you pivot the rack, place the rear tire on the outer edge of the rear tire rest depending on what direction you are pivoting the rack, and this will prevent the rest coming into contact with the wheel rim and popping the tire out. Our Fat Rack can hold up to 35kg / 77 lbs, so as long as your bike does not exceed that weight, it has been tested and can withhold that much weight with no issues. We are glad to hear you love your Steadracks, enjoy!

      Works great

These racks for our bikes were a lifesaver to fit all 6 of our bikes into a very small single car garage. They offer a rack for every size bike and I was able to hang all 6 in about 2 hours.

      Perfect for my bike closet!

I love that these racks are solid, fold down and out of the way, and swivel. They are extremely good quality and aesthetically pleasing.
